Born in France, I studied physical oceanography for 6 years to write down a thesis about marine currents in polar regions, at the Alfred Wegner Institute (Bremerhaven, Germany). During my thesis, I saw the consequences of climate change and I had the feeling that, today, understanding the ocean dynamics was useless compared the urge of action : we already have enough knowledge to react efficiently against global warming. Disturbed by this idea, I decided to take a step aside to answer the question : What should do a young physical oceanographer in a global warming world ?
